Azarenka Falls Short in Semis

Victoria Azarenka had never been to a Grand Slam semifinal until this Wimbledon. Well, she broke that hex on Tuesday, so why not end her lack of a finals appearance too?
Not so fast. Petra Kvitova, a hard-hitting, six foot Czech lefty (NSEFTPC material indeed) stopped Vika in her tracks this morning (Eastern time). Kvitova took the first set easily 6-1, but Azarenka didn't quit, taking the second 6-3.
But as NSEFTPC Angels usually do, she didn't carry the momentum into the next set. Vika quickly fell into an 0-3 hole and that was pretty much it. 1-6, 6-3, 2-6 was the final as the last remaining (current) Cabaret member was bounced from competition.
Why do I say "current?" Well, you should be able to put two and two together, right? Petra Kvitova is going to become an NSEFTPC Angel. What's not to like? She's tall, blonde, and Eastern European. Like, where's she been hiding? She'll become the first lefty into the Cabaret. I'll formally introduce her after Wimbledon.
This comes at the expense of Agnieszka Radwanska, who I usually forgot about when talking about the Angels. To be honest, Radwanska was designed to be kind of a band-aid after Dinara Safina's game went to hell a couple years ago. I just didn't feel the fire with her. Oh well. Screw it.
And, the Jelena Jankovic experiment is over with JJ at queen. Jelena just wasn't cut out for the queen position. I've liked her so long, she's more like Daniela Hantuchova-a really good friend who's a girl, not a girlfriend. Anyway it was cool while it lasted, I guess.
I'm not going to reveal who my new queen is yet. You can probably guess though. Anyway, I'll have it for you soon.
